Clarians from P3 – P6 got an insight into the world of poetry when the renowned US children’s poet laureate and author, Kenn Nesbitt, visited our school on Tuesday, 31st October 2023.
Specializing in humorous poems, Nesbitt’s work has been published in magazines, books, anthologies, text books, and on audio and television. During the sessions, he led students through his poetry writing process and guided them through writing two original pieces. Not only were our girls enthralled by the seamless process of creating poems, but they also took delight in his zany sense of humour.
Kenn showed students poetry that was written about the funnier things in life from school and homework to the lunch ladies in the cafeteria. "You can really make up poems about anything you want," he explained to the students.
